Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

A hard disk drive is a storage device which uses magnetic technology to store data. It is the primary method of data storage for PCs.

Generally, the hard drive will store the Operating System, Program Files and System Software, such as drivers. Very often the hard drive stores user data files, although if the computer is networked, these may be stored on a different computer.
